The Road to Waseca

The drive took about 30 hours. Chicken’s bus is amazing and we had a good time and slept well. Props to the drivers (Chicken and Jim) as well as the rotating crew who drove the rented box truck behind us, carrying most of what had been piled onto the trailer (before the axle debacle).

Cute armada crew fast asleep in the morning.

We arrived at Juan’s family’s warehouse in Waseca (45 minutes South of Minneapolis) early Tuesday morning. It was huge. We pulled the bus inside.

The next 2 days were spent assembling the rafts, building the second floor, and patronizing local establishments in search of bathrooms and running water (big thanks thanks to Judy and the staff at Jonnie’s Bean). The Miss Rockaway kitchen crew came through in a big way, setting up a fully functional kitchen and serving up slammin’ meals to over 20 people!
